This social gathering is designed so you can improve your conditioning, build strength, and lose weight while learning self-defense techniques. Ultimately, we hope it builds your self-esteem, confidence and safety as you travel anywhere. Come check it out yourself and have fun.

COMBAT FITNESS CLASS (Free)

Home gym

For this FREE Meetup, members must answer all three (3) questions in their profile accurately and provide a clear picture of their face. Thank you. Combat Fitness is NOT a fight club! We do NOT teach anyone to engage in fights like an action star on TV or in the movies. Our goal is to improve all aspects of your health (physical, mental, emotional, spiritual, social, etc) to either avoid and/or reduce combat threats. As such, we teach to your personal skill level, you never have to catch up to anyone else; you compete against how you did the last time. We are dedicated to being a very active group of diverse members. Our intention is to provide a class, a safe space, teaching martial arts from a self-defence combat perspective (Wing Chun, Krav Maga & Muay Thai; some day [Brazilian] Jiu-Jitsu) to everyone at any skill level; whether you're starting out or a seasoned practitioner. Our goal is to teach/share what we know, while nurturing optimal health and safety in your travels at home and abroad. The hope is that members will be able to protect themselves and others who are unable to defend themselves, whether from bullying, domestic abuse and/or confrontations on the street. Please note that this is not a formal martial arts school, we do not use uniforms, belts, trophies, etc; instead we are a creative discipline that allows like-minded people to meet, build/enhance skills and enjoy similar interests while making new friends. The Organizer (Shawn) administers this Meet Up website, puts events together, coordinates logistics, answers questions, and humbly serves as a combat example during demonstrations. The Instructor (Isaac) has decades of professional training in multiple martial arts, and prefers serving as guides, not an expert or master. As members, we treat each other as equals, we are each responsible for our own safety and well-being by showing respect for others. Members must come to events prepared and early! To honour and respect women in a world preyed upon by some men, shirts with oval collars are recommended to avoid accidental exposure. Members should remove all jewellery, such as a earrings, necklaces, etc to prevent injuries or damage. Otherwise, members should dress according to the weather and the comfort either desired or required to be flexible and highly responsive in closed quarter situations designed to mirror 'every day life.' We have enjoyed many adventures to date, as seen in our photo album, and we look forward to many more. Join us, whether to watch at first or to participate to varying degrees until you're ready to join, to find out what we're about and discover all the potential within you!
