Search Interfaces & User Experience

Lexer have spent the last few years creating data platforms for all walks of businesses. Over the years they've learned a great deal on how to get users to interact with data backed by complex search queries and data scenarios. Aaron Wallis is going to be taking us through some of the lessons they've learned when it comes to search UX and UI in an enterprise environment.

Aaron Wallis is the Founder of Lexer, a Melbourne based data business. His background in design, development and analytics have him on the quest to build a suite of really 'next-gen' data products.

Introduction to the ELK stack

New to ELK or just curious of the capabilities? We present a brief introduction about what makes Elasticsearch so easy and fun to work with, how Logstash works its magic to parse and enhance data, and finally visualising the results with Kibana. Along the way we'll share some tips on getting the most from the ELK stack as well as some handy third party tools that make life easier.

Mark Walkom is Australia's first Elasticsearch employee, providing customer support and kick starting the local community.

The ELK Stack: Community State of the Union

In this presentation, Leslie Hawthorn will review all matters related to the ELK stack and its community. We'll go over how to contribute to the Elasticsearch, Logstash and Kibana projects, where our users are, what they are finding most useful and how you can get more involved in the community. And we'll do it all using ELK-based dashboards pulling data from, amongst other sources, IRC, meetup.com (http://meetup.com/) and GitHub.

Leslie Hawthorn is the Director of Developer Relations for Elasticsearch Inc, leading the company's community outreach efforts from their Amsterdam EU HQ.
