Are you enrolled to vote..?
You have less than ONE DAY between the government calling an election and the roll for new enrolments and re-enrolments being closed at 8pm on the same day.
When the 2004 election was called,[masked] people enrolled to vote or changed their details on the electoral roll so they could cast a valid vote. These people had 7 days in which to register. Now, people have three days if already enrolled, or less than one day if they are first-time or re-enrolling voters.
The Howard government used its Senate majority to force through these changes which disenfranchise young and transient people.
If you an Australian citizen aged 17 or older you can be a part of the solution. Pick up an enrolment form at any post office or visit http://www.aec.gov.au
You can also check your enrolment on the AEC website at.https://oevf.aec.gov.au/
Please pass this information on to anyone you think may need to enrol... the election could be called any day!
