Happy New Year everyone.

Join us on Thursday, Jan 9th, for the chapters first meeting of the new year. We'll begin the meeting with some important news regarding Memphis PASS Chapter and then a short discussion about the future of the group. After that Dan Evans will take us for a deeper dive into BI on the Fly.

As usual, refreshments will be served around 5:30 PM and the meeting will start at 6 PM.

Abstract:
BI on the Fly - With Excel as the predominant data analysis tool, all users can perform deep, rich data location, integration, delivery, and visualizations using everyday tools. Excel has the ability to quickly locate data with Data Explorer and structure information in PowerPivot to create strong correlations between items and create a foundation for further analysis. Come hear more about combining PowerPivot for self-service BI reporting with GeoFlow for 3D visualizations to provide a comprehensive and compelling view of information to engage others in true collaborative BI.

Bio:
Dan Evans is a senior Technical Solution Professional (TSP) with Microsoft focusing on Business Intelligence and Data Analytics. Dan builds trusted relationships with accounts in the Heartland District to advise customers on the benefits of using the Microsoft Data platform by growing awareness and supporting adoption. He holds several technical and professional certifications (MCP, MVP, CBIP) in the industry and has presented at national conferences like TechEd, PASS and TDWI.
