James Baraz, a regular teacher at Spirit Rock, wrote a book called Awakening Joy that speaks to how to incline the mind towards well-being, happiness and ease. The book is written in 10 chapters, each with a theme (e.g. Intention, Mindfulness, etc.).
I've formed a group that will use the book as a study guide. We meet every other Tuesday evening at my home in the Oakland hills. Each meeting focuses on one chapter in the book and will include guided meditation, discussion of the chapter's teachings, group discussions and recommended exercises that can be reviewed at the following meeting. There is no charge to attend.
