• Open Project Night at Postlight [new date!]
An evening for nonbinary people and women to work on our varied projects, and learn from each other. MergeSort aims to be New York City's first feminist hackerspace. Bring a project that you want to work on, if you have one - if not, come to see what other people are interested in doing and making! Software, knitting, papercraft, vidding, zinemaking, sewing, hardware, etc. are all welcome. We'll be providing some snacks and soft drinks. It's fine to come a bit late or leave early; we're informal. Thanks to Postlight for offering this venue for our event! Accessibility: The venue has an elevator, and gendered ADA-accessible single-stall restrooms. In order to enter the Postlight building after hours, visitors may need to show a photo ID to the building security desk. (We do NOT need to put them on a guest list ahead of time.) The guard will note the person's name, the time, and whom they're visiting. Please contact the organizers ahead of time if this will be an issue for you, and please text or call an organizer at (929)[masked] if you have any trouble at the security desk. Note: We are a space for nonbinary people and women (trans and gender nonconforming inclusive). If you identify as male please get in contact with the organizers before showing up.
