#IdentityMashup at LaMaMa's CultureHub
Hey, all! It's been awhile since the Metaverse Meetup has met up & I think this might be a great opportunity to do so.
I and a colleague are doing a mixed reality lab at LaMaMa's CultureHub in conjunction with Seoul Institute of the Arts on Wed, May 16 at 9pm ET.
CultureHub is an incubator for creativity focused on the intersection of art and technology, and in this lab, I'm excited to be presenting a process that I'm calling an #IdentityMashup: exploring identity by fusing the virtual world with "real world" space. Participants create (dis)embodied stories based on Jung’s shadow archetype, and explore identity through a mashup of avatar roleplaying, livestreaming and embodied storytelling in a mixed reality environment. Short stories based on shadow work will be told through an avatar whose face is mapped to a live video stream of the participants’ actual faces, creating hybrid physical-online identities that are simultaneously distorted and revealing. I'll be conducting this in the true spirit of a lab, so it won't be a passive presentation - get ready to move & be part of the process! #funfunfunfunfun
Where: LaMaMa's CultureHub, 47 Great Jones St, 3rd Floor (between Bowery & Lafayette St)
When: Wed, May 16 at 9pm
For those that aren't in NYC, it will also be livestreamed at http://www.livestream.com/culturehubny
A portion of it will be in Second Life, but I won't be 'managing' the SL portion, so the livestream will probably be the best option for remote viewing.
