We have a front moving in thats supposed to create some strong winds out of the NE. The weather service has this: Saturday: A 20 percent chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 75. Windy, with a northeast wind 21 to 24 mph, with gusts as high as 31 mph. The marine forecast is: FRIDAY NIGHT AND SATURDAY...EAST NORTHEAST WINDS 17 TO
22 KNOTS. BAY WATERS CHOPPY. A CHANCE OF SHOWERS.
The tide tables show the high at 1:38 so I would expect the best waves to come on the outgoing tide- but we might get some good ones before that.
Magic Seaweed has a South Beach report showing 4-7 ft waves...
If you want to try this, you should be able to self-rescue and have appropriate safety gear which includes a PFD, spare paddle and helmet (so you don't bump your head on the bottom if you get rolled.) I'm limiting this paddle to a maximum of 3 attendees and the idea is to watch out for each other.
