The Freelance Marketplace Writers' Group meets this Tuesday, February 18, at 7:30 p.m. at the Rochester Hills Barnes & Noble Bookstore. Our guest will be Erin Rawlings. Erin teaches Social Media Strategy at Walsh College and runs the Mommy on the Spot blog. She'll explain different social media platforms, why they are important for writers, and guidelines for using them. We meet the third Tuesday of the month - meetings are free and open to new, working and published writers, photographers and illustrators.

Rochester Writers presents a Spring Workshop with Stan Williams onSaturday, April 5, at Oakland University. Dr. Williams will present his full day workshop on the 18+ Secrets of Successful Story Structure for Screenwriters, Novelists, and other Writers of shorter works. This will be a classroom-style event at OU, very similar to the Rochester Writers' Conference set-up using just one room. Included will be all day refreshments and lunch. Regular registration will be $100. Details available at
