  • Wye Valley Walk via Hereford Cathedral

    Later start due to hangover factor, without driving for those based in Hereford. The walk will be flat and mainly alongside the picturesque River Wye.

    We will begin along a disused railway site, meeting the River Wye at Hunderton Bridge, from which most of the walk thereafter will be along the shores of the River Wye, crossing at Victoria Bridge. Towards the end of the walk, we will pass Hereford Castle and Hereford Cathedral.

    The total route will be measured against time to ensure we return in daylight, and may incorporate a brief pub stop near the end. Bring refreshments for the walk and suitable winter walking clothing. Gloves and Hats if cold. No jeans or trainers. The total distance is likely to be around 5 to 6 miles

    Well behaved dogs and U16s welcome under supervision. Expect a degree of seasonal wet ground and mud, or frozen ground depending on climatic conditions. Although the paths should be well managed in the main.

    As with any outdoor activity, walking carries a certain level of inherent risk. Whilst we endeavour to avoid any unnecessary risks, participants are responsible for themselves and must take all reasonable precautions themselves to avoid injury or other problems.

    Start: Pomona Place, Hereford, by Travelodge entrance. Postcode HR4 0EF

    Cost = £0

    We will be walking on consecutive days and many members will be staying in nearby Hereford to socialize in the evenings and save travelling each day
