• Sunday Discussion Group
    • What we'll do Sundays, 9:15 a.m. With Dottie Henderson, LUT The Sunday morning adult discussion group is adopting a new focus for the New Year. Different study topics will be announced for each seven week period. There is no sign up, no text, and no cost. There is no expectation that you attend each discussion. Just show up at 9:15 a.m. every Sunday morning you are available, and join this heart-centered group in open and lively discussion. Beginning January 7, our first study topic will be: “Cultivating God Mind through Parables” This first seven week study uses the deeper meanings in Jesus’ parables to guide participants in their spiritual transformation and growth. Through becoming more aware of how one’s state of mind influences one’s experiences and how to transform thoughts and actions, participants realize they can experience more and more of the kingdom of God every moment of every day. Participants will: Practice looking for deeper meaning in parables as a source for self-exploration, inspiration, and truth. Become more aware of how their state of mind and receptivity for good influences their thoughts, ideas, and experiences. Observe thought patterns and their demonstrations in their lives. Acknowledge and apply innate and unexpressed talents in everyday living. Release limiting thoughts and beliefs and gain insight into what else needs to change to support new intentions. Combine feeling with thought in order to transform ideas and intentions into action. Claim their inheritance as children of God and accept their good. • Mountains of Truth with Rev. Jimmie Scott
The biblical adage, “You shall know the truth and the truth will set you free.” is one of the most profound statements in the ancient text. Both the Hebrews and the Greeks struggled with the context, as do modern day scholars. Yet the subtext of the message has never changed. Sometimes we know things, but we do not understand them. Hence this statement from Tennyson, “Knowledge comes but wisdom lingers.” Wisdom reveals the paths to higher consciousness, but her paths are many and steep!

  • A Course of Love Discussion and Deepening Group
Please join us in the CommUNITY Center in the Unity Heights Building located at 8103 Broadway Street on Thursday evenings from 7:00 to 8:30 for discussion and deepening of one’s personal experiences provided in A Course of Love. A Course of Love is a living course that empowers us to recognize, through our felt experience, the truth of who we are as human and divine beings—a truth much more magnificent than we could previously imagine. A Course of Love — · Reveals a way of direct knowing of truth. It takes us beyond learning as Jesus nurtures our inner unity by inviting into “wholeheartedness,” the union of mind and heart. · Brings to light the essential oneness of all, experienced through holy relationship with everything. · Fosters radical forgiveness, and goes beyond forgiveness to “active acceptance.” · Was received by Mari Perron over three years [masked]) in the same manner and from the same Source as A Course in Miracles. · Renews the revelation begun in A Course in Miracles. The relationship between the two courses is described this way: “A Course in Miracles attempted to dislodge the ego-mind that has provided you with an identity that you but think you are. A Course of Love then followed in order to reveal to you who you truly are.” (T2:4.3)

  • A Course in Miracles
A Course in Miracles or ACIM meets every week on Mondays in the CommUNITY Center of the Unity Heights Building at 7:00 p.m. ACIM leaders send out this invitation to all: "Please do join us to gain the tools to rediscover your peace of mind." A Course in Miracles is designed as an individual self study. This self study enhances our ability to listen and trust our internal Teacher. This is accomplished through realizing an awareness of our judgments, then choosing to forgive as an extension of Divine love; where once we chose separation from others through judgment, we now choose love, through the grace of forgiveness that is not of our ego. This change of mind perception is the Miracle. As we choose forgiveness of others and ourselves, our perception of the world changes and we become the cause of peace. ACIM students find it helpful to meet with others to listen and share their paths of self discovery. Once a week for over 21 years, an ACIM group have met at Unity Church of San Antonio. This group practices open discussion, stimulated by the reading of A Course in Miracles. One can join at any point in their learning. This study is about remembering who we are and removing all barriers to the awareness of love's presence. All are welcome. Learn more about us from the Unity Church of San Antonio website.
