Details

This joint event of Adaptive and Migracode (the first code school for refugees and migrants in Barcelona) will explore two highly important and actual topics.

AGILE METHODOLOGIES
On the one hand, we will present the benefits of Agile Methodologies. This is an approach that empowers all types of employees, bringing common agreements for all team members of any background and reality, to self organise together towards a common goal, regardless of how diverse your team is and what your product or goal is.

MIGRATION FLOWS IN EUROPE
On the other hand, we will discuss the current migration flows in Europe, and how this can be a benefit for European societies and (tech) companies. Moreover, we will discover how the two different topics of this Meetup are more connected than you may expect.

The Meetup has the honour to receive three guest speakers, leading to the following agenda:

🍸 18:30 - Door open and welcome drinks.

🗣️ 19:00 - Eduard Pinilla, Talent Acquisition Specialist at Adaptive. As an introduction, he will talk about how Adaptive is involved in Migracode, with an emphasis on Corporate Social Responsibility.

🗣️ 19:10 - Vincent van Grondelle, Program Director at Migracode. He will explain more about the current migration situation in Europe and how Migracode responds to this.

🗣️ 19:30 - Natalia Pou, Agile Coach at Adevinta. She will offer a fresh and insightful look at the strength of Agile Development within diverse and intercultural teams, and how this is related to the topics of migration and Migracode.

➡️ 20:00 and onwards - Explore the community!
One of the main objectives of Migracode Meetups is to involve underrepresented groups in tech, by focusing (among others) on gender, migrant and LGBTQ+ communities. Because of this, the Meetup offers a great opportunity to network your way around a highly diverse tech community and to train yourself in intercultural skills, while enjoying drinks and food provided by Adaptive!

Sign up now and become part of Barcelona’s most diverse tech community.
