http://photos3.meetupstatic.com/photos/event/c/4/4/c/event_191030252.jpegGreetings!

We'll be doing a new 13 mile loop going through N Commerce City / Buckley Open Space / Second Creek Trail and walking (near/on) the N rim of the Rocky Mountain Arsenal. We will be walking several miles on rural roads / easy to walk but will have a few cars. This will be a residential / rural walk.

If you have never done a walk like this or if you have concerns about whether you can do it, please don't hesitate to contact me directly.

  • Mileage: 13

  • **NEW LIABILITY WAIVER: Visit the 'Files' section of the Walk2Connect page (located in the 'more' section) to download the Walk2Connect Liability Waiver form if you haven't already. Please read, print and sign the Walk2Connect Liability Waiver form and bring it to the walk. - Thank you!

  • Difficulty: Mild (NOTE: All of these walks are advanced based on their length. If you have concerns about your ability, please feel free to contact me at email address below)

  • Terrain: (rural / suburban) Mostly paved sidewalks w/occasional gravel trail, alley and roadside. (optional grass and dirt as well)

  • Schedule: We will meet at 8:30am at Stellato's Italian Grocery (15550 E 103rd Place) and talk through Walk2Connect goals, answer any questions and to stretch. We should be done walking no later than 330pm. We will leave NO later than 9AM, so please be on time to talk and stretch with the group. You can call me at (303) 908-0076 if you're late and need to join the group further into the day. If you only want to do half of the walk, I can work with you beforehand about meeting location and transportation options back to your car. Email me if this is something you would like to consider.

  • Weather: Will keep you posted as we get closer. The snow can make this a very fun trip!

  • Dog friendly! (make sure he/she can handle the mileage, will be comfortable walking alongside a road for a couple miles and is okay in colder weather if we hit a storm.)

  • Breakfast & Lunch: Please plan to have breakfast before you arrive or bring your own packed breakfast with you. Our mid-day lunch break will be near 104th & Tower Road. There are a few restaurants (Starbucks, Subway, Asian, Sonic) for food if you need anything. Please plan to pack a lunch if you would prefer managing your diet.

  • Meetup Fee I've decided to charge a very small fee of $5/each for our Meetup walking trips. These are to cover Meetup membership fees and trip planning time / costs. Included in the fee will be a small snack and printed route map for everyone participating. Walk2Connect is now a full-time business and we're excited about ALL of our walking opportunities. Please sign-up for our emails (http://eepurl.com/h6dus) and check back to our trip schedule on our main website (http://www.walk2connect.com) for other walking trips on the calendar.

  • Please plan to have someone available to pick you up if you don't think you can go the whole way; however, you will be surprised at what your body can do!

Plan to Bring:

  • Comfortable socks & shoes (pref. NON cotton socks!)

  • Light backpack w/water and snack foods (almonds, bars, fruit)

  • Gloves, scarf, beanie (depending on weather)

  • Sunglasses & Sunscreen (and hat if you wear them)

  • Layers of clothing depending on anticipated temperature and light rain gear just in case. I would avoid big/bulky winter coats as you will warm up once we walk and its way easier to shed/store light clothing.

  • Camera

These walks are very informal and give us all unique opportunities to connect with one another, ourselves and our surroundings.

Contact me at: jonathon@walk2connect.com if you have any questions!

Cheers,

Jonathon
