50mm 1.4

35mm 1.4

UPDATE[masked]

The Osprey family is back and roosting for a chick or two across the street from beach. Be sure to grab one of the 500's and stake out a good shooting location. The male goes out hunting and can often be seen returning with a fish for the female. For these shots you'll probably want a tripod or at least monopod.

[masked] My friend Carol is an expert on these characters and will be on hand 10am to 11am to answer any Osprey questions.

4-24 Our go-to model Natalie Nightwolf will be on hand in case you run out of birds to photograph! Thanks to Peter C for use of his photo here. jt

Great opportunity to try lenses you normally don't get to work with.

The Sigma Rep was very helpful and friendly . He and Phil helped me find a lens just right for my portrait interest . Having a model was great. She also helped make it a very productive event. Thanks Milford Photo!

Very good. I enjoyed haveing a chance to use the lens that Phil had set up on the tripod to shoot the birds. Wish I could afford something like that.

We're adding[masked] lenses to the pile for this event. Perfect for the Ospreys. Great opportunity to play with these $8000 lenses for Nikon or Canon.

totally bummed that I can't attend, but I have to drive to Vermont to pick up my son from college

I've cruised by the Indian River and the Ospreys are back in town for roosting. The 500mm Sigma is a great way to reach out the 150 yards for a tight shot of them in their suspended nest which is right across the street from the event venue. Check out some images from past Osprey events in our meetup album archive.

Ian I hope we have a bunch of people that will make sigma and other manufacturers support these programs in the future. You are welcome to shoot however many lenses you can and stay the entire three hours! Certain lenses might be in greater demand and we just ask everyone be mindful of that.

Hi Fran. Yes extenders will work but at this time Sigma does not have them to loan.

Hi Jess, Do you know if you can use tele convertors with these lenses and if so, will they be available that day?

How many people can attend? Are there enough lenses to be shooting constantly?

    March 8, 2013

  • Jesse T.

Sony owners I'll ask again. Olympus owners, i'm afraid, will have to wait for Sigma to produce your mount for these lenses.

    March 8, 2013

  • Bill C.

    Micro 4/3 mount please!
