Beardsley Zoo photo shoot with SIGMA

Milford Photo and Sigma are teaming up for a fun morning of photographing at Bridgeport's Beardsley Zoo. Jess and Phil will be there from the store along with Mark Farb with Mike Deutsch from Sigma: we will be on hand to help get some stunning images. Mark and Mike are bringing along some of Sigma's coolest long lenses for Canon, Nikon and Sony DLSRs to better reach out and fill your frames of tigers, wolves, exotic birds and even the humble prarie dog.

Expect sigma to bring a bunch of 500mm tele zooms, some super fast 200 and 300mm lenses, and maybe one or two of the mondo 800mms to play with for the morning. The Sigma guys will have some swag that morning and expect to offer some kind of deal if you look to purchase a lens at the end of the morning from you-know-where.

[masked] Participants who purchase a Sigma lens will get a free Sigma polarizing filter. See one of the Sigma or Milford Photo guys at the zoo for more details.

Registering here gets you a ticket and loaner rights to any of the lenses Sigma will bring. You'll need to wear your wrist band and provide a photo id for the loaner process. You are welcome to bring your own lenses too. All skill levels are welcome.

$24.95 per person.  Contact the store to register without paypal. This event will be held weather permitting with rain date TBD. Meet a Milford Photo rep at the entrance to get your wrist band that morning.

I tried out a Sigma[masked] mm lens. Though it took me awhile to figure out what I was doing, I ended up with some wonderful shots! So thanks, Jesse for organizing this event!

just curious and please forgive me if this seems like I'm asking too much, but would it be possible if folks posted what lens they were shooting with. I'm totally loving all the images posted and it would be nice to see which lens they were imaged with.

it was very nice, the weather was fair and the Sigma people were very nice and helpful. I was able to try out their[masked]mm lens which I was very impressed with, a little bit heavy but otherwise a great lens. thanks Jess for this great meetup.

Weather should be fine for tomorrow. We are a go. I'd been asked about tripods: as far as I know the zoo has no restrictions so you are welcome to bring them or monopods.

The Beardsley Zoo is not a government interest so a shutdown does not effect it.

Adam registration for this event is with the store not the zoo. Registration is reopened for an indefinate period.

Fred registration is open again. However i cannot guarantee how long this open period will last. I'm negociating with the zoo to buy tickets on speculation. They want a 2 week period normally for groups. Anyone interested in going should sign up sooner than later.
