  • guess what, everyone? you've been asking for it, and one of our newest and most enthusiastic members (woo, jessie!) has made it happen... a monthly vegan potluck event!!  jessie's writeup is below, INCLUDING THE LINK YOU'LL NEED TO REGISTER for the potluck.

You have to eat dinner anyway, right? So why not do so family style amongst new friends at the Riverside Urban Ecology Center. Please bring a vegan dish to share. One and all are welcome!

You do not have to be vegan to attend, but the food does! We ask that your offering does not include any type of meat or meat stock (including fish), dairy, eggs, or honey. As for how much food to prepare: bring enough for 4 times the amount of people in your party (for instance, if you're coming solo, bring enough to feed 4 people).

Potluck begins at 6:30, and dinner is served at 7pm.

We ask that you label your ingredients, or bring the recipe to display. There are many reasons to eat vegan: health, food allergies, ethical concerns, environmental impact, spiritual beliefs, etc. If you have any questions about vegan cuisine or resources, please feel free to contact Jessie at [masked].

Please be aware that these potlucks are a labor of love, and we ask that each attendee is respectful to each other and the space graciously being provided to us. We will need to wash dishes, and put tables and chairs away before we leave for the night. We also ask that if you bring children, they are supervised at all times. Thank you so much, this will be an amazing event if we work together!

Not to worry if you do not have chef tendencies -- feel free to contact Jessie for ideas, as she is more than happy to help calm your potluck jitters.

    Cheers, and good vegan eats!

please note, RSVP'ing here on meetup is lovely and all, and it's definitely nice for us to all see who's planning to attend... but it doesn't really mean anything with this particular event. ;) so RSVP here if you like, but please don't forget to register with the UEC!

you must click through to the the urban ecology calendar page to get more information AND TO ACTUALLY REGISTER YOUR SPOT at the potluck. with that said... check out the link below!

the UEC page for this event is here:

once there, select the date of our event, look for vegan potluck, and then "sign in" (if you don't already have a UEC username you can choose "register as guest" and enter your info). after you've successfully cleared that hurdle, you'll receive an email confirmation.

there is no fee for this event, although donations to the UEC are always appreciated. looking forward to seeing you there!
