• Take Charge of Your Health!

    Whitefish Bay Public Library

PBNOW (Plant Based Nutrition Organization of Wisconsin) holds monthly seminars (open to all) at the Whitefish Bay Public Library, on the 2nd Thursday of each month, from 6:00pm - 7:30pm. At each seminar, a Nationally recognized Plant-Based Nutrition expert presents live to our group, via SKYPE, followed by a question and answer session. This month's speaker is Dr. Pam Popper – one of the experts featured in Forks Over Knives, and also one of the co-authors of the companion book. Pam is the founder and President of Wellness Forum Health. The company offers educational programs to both consumers and providers that facilitate informed medical decision-making, diet and lifestyle intervention, and improved long-term health outcomes. Pam also served as part of Dr. T. Colin Campbell’s teaching team at eCornell and is on the President’s Board for the Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine in Washington D.C. You can check out Plant Based Nutrition Organization of Wisconsin's upcoming monthly events and speakers in the events section on Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/pbnow.org) or on their website (http://www.pbnow.org).

  • 4th Anniversary Celebration - Family Style Community Vegan Potluck @ UEC

As many of you might know, Jessie started the tradition of monthly community potlucks back in 2015 at UEC. That tradition has continued since then because of you and your family/friends. It is one of our highly attended event and it has positively impacted many lives including me through education, networking, friendship and great food. Let's celebrate our 4th potluck anniversary together on Feb 5th! --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Please join us at the Riverside Urban Ecology Center for our Monthly Vegan Community Potluck. You do not have to be vegan to attend, but the food does! We ask that your offering does not include any type of meat or meat stock (including fish), dairy, eggs, or honey. As for how much food to prepare: bring enough for 4 times the amount of people in your party (for instance, if you're coming solo, bring enough to feed 4 people). Set up and networking from 6.30 - 7 pm, Dinner from 7 - 8 pm and clean up from 8 - 8.30 pm We ask that you label your ingredients, or bring the recipe to display. There are many reasons to eat vegan: health, food allergies, ethical concerns, environmental impact, spiritual beliefs, etc. If you have any questions about vegan cuisine or resources, please feel free to message one of the meetup organizers. Please be aware that these potlucks are a labor of love, and we ask that each attendee is respectful to each other and the space graciously being provided to us. We will need to wash dishes, and put tables and chairs away before we leave for the night. We also ask that if you bring children, they are supervised at all times. Thank you so much. NOTE : This is a free event. However, donations to the UEC are always appreciated.
