Our goal is to help you to live your life with attention and intention, cultivating the skills that empower you to make healthy choices that are in alignment with your values and are meaningful to you. The course is designed to be practical, universal and very accessible, allowing anyone, with or without a background in mindfulness to participate. Everyone can benefit from mindfulness, regardless of their cultural, economic or spiritual background. The Mindfulness Foundations Course is much more than a mindfulness meditation course, it is an intensive mindfulness program that integrates four key areas of mindfulness: Attention– Developing attention skills through meditation training. Wisdom – Understanding one’s biases, labeling, projection and per-judgment. Increasing emotional intelligence and learning to respond rather than react. Values – Living a meaningful life. Developing healthy habits and responses that are in alignment with one’s personal values. Open heart – Developing healthy relationships and connections. Cultivating skills of compassion, loving-kindness, empathic joy and equanimity. In order to live a meaningful life with attention and intention, developing the freedom to live consciously, the curriculum focuses on training the mind and cultivating the ability to make healthy choices that are beneficial to the life you want to live. This course consists of lecture, meditation, small group discussion, journaling, and short video presentations. Please REGISTER AND PAY to save your spot using the link below: https://shirlygilad.com/event/caregiver-support-group-a-mindfulness-approach-8-sunday-afternoons/ This is an 8 week workshop DATES: January 20, 27, February 3,10,17,24, March 3,10 Caregiver stress is common in many situations. Whether you are caring for a sick spouse, an elderly parent, a child with disability (emotional or physical), or a friend in distress, you face similar challenges. While you are doing good work and trying your best, the day to day can create mayhem in your own life. This group’s purpose is to provide you with tools to manage your daily difficulties and lean how you can take care of you so you can take care of those close to you in a manner that benefits you and them. I have spent very intense years of my life caring for my son who was diagnosed on the autism spectrum when he was two and a half. I wish a group like this was available to me at that time. Thankfully he is doing very well and I can turn my energy and attention to helping others going through similar challenges. This is an 8 week process that will provide you with a safe place for sharing and with tools for transformation. Group size is limited to 12 in the office. Online participation available as well. Space is limited to 20 women. Cost is $15 Use this link to register: https://shirlygilad.com/event/a-sanctuary-for-mindful-femininity-november-18-2018/ There is an inherent gift, a natural medicine, in true friendship and deep connection between women. This is what we are seeking when we spend precious time together on Sunday afternoons. We meet monthly to hold sacred space for one another. Each gathering touches on a specific theme or issue. Touch is an important part of our practices, respectful and nourishing touch. The touch may be incorporated into the different practices. We share, we reflect, we dance, we provide each other with an opportunity for showing up as we are Embodiment practices teach us that feelings are simply an energy that we can tap into and work with. When we feel an emotion it is just that, an emotion. When we feel an emotion and then concoct a story around it, we create a sticky place within ourselves that is later hard to undo. When we simply feel an emotion and notice it in our bodies, we can move through it and emerge empowered and triumphant, celebrating our gifts in a way that trickles into our daily lives. You will find that true spiritual work does not require being away on a five-day retreat. It does not take place only when you are stepping away from the routine of your life. Spiritual work can be a part of your everyday routine as you face the challenges that life presents. Come to the circle and take your seat! This work is inspired by Chameli Ardagh and The Awakening Women Institute.
