    We are excited to announce our next meeting at Coretek's office in Farmington Hills. Our January MISCUG meeting will be taking place on 1/11 at Noon at Coretek HQ in Farmington Hills. This month we are excited to feature several speakers, including: Justin Chalfant from Patch My PC, who will be flying out to talk about their third-party patch management product for SCCM. Patch My PC will be a MISCUG sponsor in 2019! Jordan Benzing from Truesec, presenting: ConfigMgr: The PowerShell Rises The fire that surrounds the word of DevOps continues to rise, but fear not we have the hero we deserve and its name is PowerShell. Learn about tips and tricks from the field with PowerShell and Configuration Manager and learn about some of the new cmdlets released in the most recent version of ConfigMgr and how you can use PowerShell to embrace the DevOps mentality. Topics will Include: Peace Has cost you your strength victory has defeated you Discussion on how we have grown lax with testing when it comes to Patching computers because of how good updates were until about a year ago and now we can’t always rely on ADRS to simply deploy updates to their organization because of needing to test things. Through the growing power of the GUI we have been able to be less and less reliant on CMD/Shell based tools – This is convenient until we have to do something 300 times. Force yourself to do the onesey toosey stuff in Powershell. Creating Collections with PowerShell Create Query Membership Rules in PowerShell What’s the next part of your plan? – Crashing this IIS Server with no survivors The story of the little WSUS Server that could until it couldn’t. How can we use PowerShell or ConfigMgr to protect ourselves from the eventual crash. Other ways PowerShell can protect us from things We’ll Never debug this code or get these reports figured out it runs into any one of these functions we’ll never find it. – Follow him! We will be meeting to review and make changes to bylaws, discuss how we’d like to improve MISCUG going forward, as well as facilitate nominations and voting of new board members. Everyone that has participated with MISCUG in the past is invited. If you can’t make it, but would like to take a role in helping run a small part of our user group in 2019, please send us a message via Meetup.

    We are excited to announce our next meeting at Coretek's office in Farmington Hills. This month we are thrilled to feature MVP Mike Terrill! ( https://miketerrill.net/ ) Mike is presenting: OSD, Windows 10, UEFI, Secure Boot & More. "What do all of these things have in common? These are all things you should be doing when deploying Windows 10 in your enterprise. Starting with UEFI, this is the only way Windows 10 should be deployed so that you can take advantage of the newer security features built into Windows 10. Switching from BIOS to UEFI used to be more challenging (and it still is in some cases), however, Microsoft has made it easier to do starting with the Windows 10 Creator's Update release (1703). In this meeting learning how to create BIOS to UEFI Task Sequences for multiple scenarios so that you have as few as possible and learn some cool tips and tricks along the way."
