We are going rafting down Kern River and camping at Lake Isabella! This will be the third time we're doing the trip. We've had a blast as shown by the photos below! With all the snow we received over the winter, the water level will be high and the rafting conditions will be great!
The funds we put together will cover the rafting trip, Friday & Saturday dinners along with some pastries and coffee for breakfast along with the campground. :) So get our your sleeping bag and come pitch a tent with us. ;)
Besides rafting, we will also kayak. We will start with half of us rafting and the other half kayaking. We will alternate the 2nd time down the river. :)
We will have our own campsite so everyone will hang out together!!! :) Let's have a blast! While we are camping we are also close to civilization - so if you need to get something from the supermarket, drug store or Starbucks you are in luck!

Friday - drive up. Lake Isabella is about 150 miles from LA. Ideally you want to leave LA before traffic, but if you have to leave after work that is fine too! When you get to the campground pitch your tent, unroll your sleeping bag and hang out and mingle with everyone.
Saturday - Rafting/Kayaking during the day. The rafting company provides all the equipment (boats, helmets, paddles, life jackets). Hang out with your new friends at night.
Sunday - you can head straight home (it's Father's day) or do something else such as see the Sequoias, enjoy some hot springs and/or try out the water slides. If you haven't seen the Sequoias you are in for a treat. :)
Getting there: I will help coordinate carpool for the confirmed attendees.

This is a trip for members of this group. All attendees must be a member of Mix Professionals and RSVP here. If you know someone that wants to go, he or she must join the group. There are no "+1"s for this trip.
No pets, no minors on this trip.

Communication with specifics regarding the trip will be through email. Therefore we will use the email address associated with your Paypal account unless you specifically provide a different address.
The reservation is based on FIRST PAID and has a limited number of people (gender balanced). Whoever pays first will be on the "go" list. If you RSVP yes but don't submit payment your spot is not confirmed and I may move you to the "not attending" list without any further explanation because only a payment (not just an RSVP) locks in your spot.
Refund Policy: You may cancel 60 or more days prior to start date and receive a full refund (minus paypal fee). Cancellation 14-59 days prior to trip start date, you will receive 50% refund. 0-13 days, no refund will be given.

1. Can I pay for my friend who is also coming?
Yes. As long as your friend RSVPs separately, you can send in payment for them.
2. What do I need to bring?
A full list will be provided a week or two before the trip. But basically you need to bring your personal amenities and tent, sleeping bag air mattress etc.
3. What if I don't have a sleeping bag and/or tent?
If you don't have a sleeping bag buy one or borrow one. You don't need a fancy one - a $20 one from Big 5 or Target will do. Or you can ask here is someone will share. Every time we've done this trip people have been willing to share tent space.
4. How does carpool work?
The organizers will coordinate carpool for confirmed attendees based on where people are leaving from, when they can leave and whether or not they can drive. Departure times are determined by drivers. Expect to hear more about 1 week prior to the trip.
5. What will the weather be like?
Typically the weather in the area is high 80's/90's in the day and high 50's/60's at night. It's great weather to raft and camp!
6. What if I don't know anyone else going - is it weird to go by myself?
Not at all! Most people come by themselves to these events and have a blast and end up with a new social circle of friends!
