I'm disappointed that I wasn't able to attend. It sounds like a valuable topic was well presented.

Any chance it was recorded? Are the slides useful out of context of the talk and if so are they available for download?

    Thanks

One thing that makes a great programmer is they know how to make their code perform faster than the programmers they work with through knowing what statements are the fastest.

Also knowing when an optimization isn't worthwhile due to clarity issues which can result in others creating bugs and especially when the optimization is insignificant to the overall execution.

One of the things I do is make my code as strict as possible. PHP and MySQL warnings are treated as errors, error suppression is ignored in PHP, 'use strict' is used in Javascript, and XHTML mode is used for testing.

Will this be more general, or PHP specific?
