Needs a location
Tohickon Creek flows out of Lake Nockamixon in beautiful Bucks County, PA. There is a recreational dam-release scheduled for the weekend of Nov. 2-3. On Saturday we'll paddle 7 scenic miles from Nockamixon State Park to Ralph Stover State Park. The first 5 miles are class 1/1+. The last 2 miles are a slightly more challenging but fun class 2-minus. (We take out before the class 3+ section.) Includes one portage of about 150 yards around a 4-ft. milldam, and a carry of about 100 yards at the take-out. (Bring wheels if you like.) If time permits, there will be an option to paddle the last 1-1/2 miles again. Either way, we'll end the day celebrating our "adventure" with food & drink at a local watering hole (optional).
Some previous whitewater experience is required. PFD's are also required. Kayakers must have spray skirts and paddling helmets. Water will be chilly so wetsuits/drysuits are a good idea.
You must have your own canoe or kayak and the means to transport it. Everyone is expected to participate in the shuttle. Bring lunch/munchies/beverage plus a change of clothes in a watertight container; also rain gear in case of an unexpected shower.
BEFORE you RSVP, please contact the trip leader, Ira G., via email at [masked] or call[masked] (before 9pm please) for details on where we are meeting, and to confirm that you are on this trip. (Rain date: Sun., Nov. 3.)
