Design Considerations When Building Cross Platform Mobile Apps

Chris Balcer, Director of Technology Innovation at SuperConnect, will share their experiences in attacking cross platform design challenges...

From user experience to data transfer there are a number of considerations required when you build a mobile app on multiple platforms.  Take a look inside at how SuperConnect is building their Connections app for phone and tablet on the iOS, Android, Mobile Web, and Windows 8 Surface platforms.  Design topics will include maintaining native app performance when working with sizable server side datasets, supporting multiple android resolutions, leveraging cloud to provide server side processing, and creating consistent and brandable user experiences.  SuperConnect’s Connections app is the smartest mobile enterprise directory available that makes it easy for your teams to find, discover, learn and connect with each other, all with the tap of a few buttons.

This meetup had nothing to do with the title, rather It was a demo of an enterprise mobile product. Albeit, the product was interesting & some of the problems they faced were interesting & useful to know, it had nothing to do with “Design Considerations When Building Cross Platform Mobile Apps”. If MoMo organizers had renamed this meetup “Issues and Design Considerations for Cloud Based & Enterprise Mobile Apps” it would have been ok, even though it was still basically a product presentation (really product presentations should state that they are product demos, or at least mention it in the description)

I have given this 1*, however if the topic had been correctly named I would probably have given it 3* or 4*

This has started to become an issue with MoMo, where the presentation turns out to have little or nothing to do with the published topic (although interesting, last months MoMo was had a similar issue). There is a danger that this could start to impact their credibility

Slightly disappointed that the talk was more of a product demo and than what the title implied ("Design Considerations When Building Cross Platform Mobile Apps").

    Hello ALL,

MoMo Chicago hosts good stuff and I haven't ANY doubt this event will be less than that.

Todor Krecu is a intellectually honest person sincerely moving technology in Chicago's interests.
