Cross Country Ski and Snowshoe at the Windblown Center, New Ipswich NH
• What we'll do Cross Country Ski and Snowshoe at the Windblown Center, New Ipswich NH WHEN: The Weekend of February 11th TCs: David This event is back by popular demand because we have enjoyed some great trips here in past years. It’s about 1 ¾ hr out of Boston but is located in a snow belt that allows for much better conditions and well worth the travel time. Windblown has a wide variety of trails that are kept in great shape and can give you the feeling that you're out in the woods exploring on your own. The ski area also has a fun, rustic lodge with a fireplace and wood burning stoves to warm up and enjoy a hot cup of soup before going out for the afternoon. Check Windblown's web site for directions, a trail map and more, Group lessons are available. Plans may be made for a stop for some dinner nearby ( on the way home. RSVP: Required by Thursday, 2/8 by 9pm, David. More details, follow-up messages and some carpooling arrangements will be provided when you RSVP. I have a disability so I am going to need help from someone getting out there. I can get myself into Boston and join you at a convenient subway stop. MEET: 10:30, on the upper level of Windblown’s Base Lodge. COST: $20 for XC trail pass / $12 for Snowshoe, and Rentals are: $20 for skis / $13 for Snowshoes. There is also a group XC ski lesson at 11:00 which costs $25. Windblown does not accept credit cards so plan to bring sufficient cash to cover trail passes, rentals, lessons and snacks. • What to bring It would be wise to bring some water for out on the trail it is easy to get dehydrated while skiing. • Important to know Windblown does not accept credit cards so be sure to bring enough cash to cover the expenses for your rentals, trail passes and food. This event may have some participants from another Meetup group David belongs to: North Shore Socials.
