2nd Annual MOTORADO CLASSIC BIKE show 6/16/13

KEN "GUNNY" PRIMROSE will be leading to Lone Butte station. XVS1300CT, RED/BLACK & CHROME!

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

2nd ANNUAL MOTORADO CLASSIC MOTORCYCLE SHOW in Eldorado NM just east of Santa Fe on Hwy. 285.

SUNDAY JUNE 16th 2013- Father's Day - 11:00 AM

Addmission FREE

Motorado MC of Santa Fe (NM) is presenting its 2nd annual classic motorcycle show on Fathers Day (June 16th) this year. Last year we had over 100 classic motorcycles on display, including Ariel, BMW, Bridgestone, BSA, Bultaco, Chang Jiang, Cushman, CZ, Ducati, Harley, Honda, Husqvarna, Indian, Kawasaki, Maico, Montesa, Moto Guzzi, Norton, Parilla, Penton, Suzuki, Triumph, Ural, Vespa, Vincent & Yamaha. Best in show was a pristine ’34 Moto Guzzi GTS500.

Over 1500 spectators enjoyed this no admission fee event with live music, food, and 20-30 industry sponsors with displays on site. This year's event promises to be even bigger and better. The beneficiary sponsor is the Santa Fe Animal Shelter and Humane Society. Please check our website for more information: http://www.motorado.org/

Video and pics from 2012 - http://motorado.shutterfly.com/

There are videos and pic of last year's event on their site and more info will be posted soon. The organizer has informed me the event will be a couple of hours earlier than last year to avoid afternoon heat or storm. So hours might be 10-4:00PM instead of the 12-5pm stated on the poster.

For those who attended last year's event, (40 riders), you know how cool it was. For those of you who didn't, imagine COFFEE@DAWN on steroids...all day long!! The parking lot was not a half-bad show in itself.

Does anyone know what happened that caused Jacqui to leave the group? I asked her on FB and she just said she wanted to go solo for awhile. that tells me that she didn't care to talk about it, does anyone else know if something happened?

She drop out of my PEGASUS group also today, so don't take it personal i guess.

My congrats to all the riders and especially Ken and Jim for maintaining control of such a large group up to the Lone Butte meetup. I consider this a major challenge every year to pull off in a sane and orderly fashion, and enjoy it greatly when it is successful. Good to see that a wide range of riders from diverse backgrounds CAN ride together without drama, accidents or arrests!! LOL. Thz again for your cooperation, hope ya'll enjoyed the ride and event.

I missed the group ride up there, must have been right behind. I had almost forgotten how nice that road was. I enjoyed the show, but didn't stick too long, left around 1:30pm and back home in time for some fathers day stuff. I did pick up a T-shirt. :)

To all of the riders: It was an absolute pleasure and thrill to lead the group from Einstein's Bagels to Lone Butte Station. Could not have asked for any better group cooperation! Thank You one and all.

The Bike show seemed way bigger this year and really HOT! the police brigade was interesting to watch... I like the diversity of all the old and new bikes.. its cool to see such antiques and hear them run to boot :)

I agree. It was better this year to a point. I personally would have changed a couple things. But I enjoyed it :-)

      Coincidence...going up 14 also.

Pretty unlikely that it would be a coincidence.

while I have not seen a rodeo in person. I have seen a lot of videos and I believe it will be neat to see their skills demo in person. I have been practicing their skills for a while now. I also posted in the forum under the safety tips a site from a motorcycle officer that teaches the skills to the public. I have found as a kid, I used to naturally use those skills on a bicycle. very cool :)

As there are many riders listed, and many times ppl drop out or join in at the last minute...Do not expect Ken the abq leader to wait past 10:00am to leave for ANY reason. Everyone MUST BE GASSED UP, AIRED UP, GEARED UP COFFEED UP AND KIDNEYS DRAINED BEFORE KSU 10:00am. You will be left to catch up at Lone Butte if you're late. Ken will not count heads or receive last minute cell calls explaining why you will be late. This ship launches at 10:00 am SHARP and the ex Marine does not like to wait. You were warned. So spit polish all that chrome and see you at Lone Butte.

    June 14, 2013

    • Jim

Hi Pat, as the lead for the Albuquerque factor of this ride, or as the organizer Ken or Z need to field that one.

      June 14, 2013

    • ZEO

Pat, we generally scatter, unless you want to join up with others on your own. This is a nice small venue and is easy to trip over everyone you know.

We will have an experienced rider to lead this group from abq to Madrid where I will take the lead. This will have to be a sane disciplined ride with riders staying in staggered formation and observing the leader's pace. We do not usually ride in such large numbers for safety's sake, so we need everyone's cooperation on this. Whatever position you find yourself in the pack, plz stay there. Ride at a consistent speed without stunting, hot dogging or breaking from the group except for mechanical emergency. This will be the 2nd year that this is AMRG's largest ride and we do not need any accidents or friction from police or the locals. I encourage EVERYONE to watch this short video by MSF on group riding...even if you're experienced, it won't hurt. - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=erpkyD7SMfw

Feel free to drop in anywhere, but the Madrid meetup has been moved to the LONE BUTTE STORE on hy14 2.6 miles north of the Galisteo turn off. There was some concerns raised about the gravel Mine Shaft lot, so Kenneth suggested this. I will meetup there about 10:45am You can also wait at the Galisteo intersection.

    May 27, 2013

Zoom in just north of the intersection of NM-41 and US 285. It's called Eldorado of Santa Fe.

      May 27, 2013

off 285 it's the center entrance to Eldorado, with a light, across from the only gas station out there. The show is in shopping ctr on left side in about 1000 ft...can't miss it.
