McKeldin and Liberty Dam

This hike starts with us going counterclockwise on the McKeldin area Switchback Trail, we then do a short bushwhack north to an unnamed trail that leads to the Marriottesville Road. From there, we head over to the dam which hopefully will have water spilling over the top. We will have lunch at the dam and then return to the parking lot. There are no difficult stream crossings, the hike will be about 7.3 miles and we will have 700+ feet of elevation gain.

The hike starts at 9:30, parking is at the McKeldin parking area just past the pay station. GPS 39.359289, -76.889076

The address for the McKeldin Area Office is 11676 Marriottsville Rd, Marriottsville, MD 21104, but you are going straight after the pay station, not right to the Area Office.
