Learn to Crochet! (or teach crochet!)

  • Jul 22, 2012 · 2:00 PM
  • This location is shown only to members

Greetings Stitchers!

You've been asking, and now we're delivering! Learn to crochet! Or.... help teach crochet.... Or just come out and crochet! Yes, this one is a crochet ONLY meetup.

If you will be learning to crochet, Julie recommends bringing: worsted weight 4-ply yarn - Lion Brand or Red Heart. (They are both good yarns, but affordable and not too fancy or chunky for learning to crochet.) The best hook size to begin with is H, I or J. They come in a lot of different materials (plastic, metal, bambooo, etc.) - purchase what feels best to you. Also bring a sissors. If you can not make the $5-$10 investment to learn to crochet at this time, Julie has a plethora of hooks and yarns you can use during this meetup.

Please bring your crochet materials and a (non-alcoholic) beverage if you want one!

This will fill up quickly! Please stay on top of your RSVPing!

See y'all there!

Hearts!

Erica

Fabulous, as always. This is such a great group. Always fun to get together. But I really enjoyed having a "class" being taught this meet-up; getting to learn something new! (Something I've wanted to learn for a while now.) Thank You SIS - And Julie! (and Brenda and Christina and everyone else who shared their knowledge.) This is what makes sisterhood so great!

If you are like me, getting free patterns from the internet is worthwhile and fun. Check this out! http://www.allfreecrochet.com/Seasonal-Crochet/Pretty-Summer-Skirt/ml/1

I just learned how to do a beginning chain that includes the 1st row of stitches. With this, and the magic circle, my life is so much easier! I'm not sure what will be going on for me in July, but I'll try to make it and I'd be happy to show anyone interested both of these starter techniques.
