Hike 1: Black Cap 2.2 Miles (easy)
This hike is just over a mile along a trail that was cut by one of the original Makusue members. The view is spectacular for a such short walk. Bring a nice lunch and really enjoy the summit. Great after a lazy Sunday morning.
Hike 2: Kearsarge 6 miles (moderate-challenging)
With a lot of straight up climbs, this hike spices it up in a short distance. Your reward is one of the only fire towers still remaining at the top. You can't beat the views once you climb up there.
Cranmore Adventure Day:
If you are looking for a change of pace, head to Cranmore and enjoy the roller coaster, giant swing, fun house and summer tubing.
Take it easy with a little shopping, brief walk to Arethusa Falls, only 1 mile to a dramatic 140 foot waterfall, or bike stick and stone area a short bike ride away from the house.
WHAT TO BRING: The Makusue ski house has rooms that sleep 2-4 in bunks. Please bring a pillow, bedding, towels and toiletries that you will need for the weekend. Bring food for lunch.
Hiking-Bring plenty of layers for hiking, the mountains can change unexpectedly from pleasant to cold and wet! A backpack, lots of layers, hat, gloves, extra socks, waterproof boots, micro spikes of some sort, water bottles, flashlight, first aid kit, etc...
Biking-Bring a helmet for biking and extra clothes since you are bound to get muddy! Both locations offer rentals for bikes and helmets.
RSVP's will be followed up with an email and then phone call to discuss the details of the club. Hope to see you there!
