ALL WEATHER Ride and/or clinic appropriate for conditions at 12:30 pm.
Too wet to ride dirt? We KNOW you want to RIDE! The show must go on! If the trails are wet/muddy we will ride paved paths and bike routes for a fun urban trek/tour. Thank you for staying off and not damaging muddy trails!
Ride/Clinic will be held rain or shine. If it's raining, we will hold a clinic under the pavilion or ride to an appropriate location for food and beverage.
We will typically hold a short clinic prior to the ride with topics based on the needs/interests of the group in attendance. Riding skills, bike maintenance, trail etiquette, trail building, etc.
Arrive early and be ready with your bike at 12:30 pm
This is for all levels of riders with an emphasis on making sure there are ample opportunities for beginner/novice riders to enjoy.
We will break into groups according to interests/abilities. Beginners are especially welcome and encouraged to attend. There will be no drops. Meet in the parking lot by the swimming pool. Helmets are required along with a bike in good working order.
The ride/clinic lasts approximately 2 hours and there may be an optional visit to other destinations for food and beverage.
Here is the link to a one-time online waiver that is valid from now until the end of the year. This waiver MUST be filled out to ride with us.
ARR is YOUR Local Non-Profit Mountain Bike Education and Advocacy organization to promote mountain biking and create great trails for us to ride. While ARR membership is not required to attend the ride/clinic, we do encourage you to join. As an IMBA Club (International Mountain Biking Association), when you join IMBA and indicate The Austin Ridge Riders as your local club you will become a member of the Austin Ridge Riders Mountain Bike Club! Your membership supports trail development/maintenance and mountain bike education and advocacy in and around Austin. To sign up go to Austin Ridge Riders membership (http://www.austinridgeriders.com/membership/)
This is a great way to learn new skills, maintenance tips and trails and urban routes in and near near Walnut Creek. Anyone interested in helping by being a ride or clinic leader contact Charlie Riou or ARR via Meetup or FB.
