Broken English

I suggest that we meet at 7.00pm to have a quick dinner at La Pomme de Pain (77 Rue de Rennes as well). For those who cannot come for dinner beforehand, we can meet at 8.00pm in front the cinema. Show starts at 8.15pm Director: Zoe R. Cassavetes Actors: Parker Posey (Nora), Melvil Poupaud (Julien), Drea De Matteo (Audrey), Gena Rowlands (Vivien), Bernadette Lafont (Mme Grenelle), Josh Hamilton (Charlie), Griffin Dunne (Brad), Justin Theroux. Synopsis: Nora Wilder is freaking out. Everyone around her is in a relationship, is married, or has children. Nora is in her thirties, alone with job she's outgrown and a mother who constantly reminds her of it all. Not to mention her best friend Audrey's "perfect marriage". But after a series of disastrous dates, Nora unexpectedly meets Julien, a quirky Frenchman who opens her eyes to a lot more than love.

Have you ever seen how clouds shift in the sky ? Do you really think that the sun sets when it used to be so high ? Haven't you ever passed in the street an old love that looked like a stranger ? ... How fast things changes ... seeing is believing? The world will never look quite the same again.... I could relate to a few of the experiences of Nora, the main character. I thought there was a very human element to many of the scenes and interactions between people. The name of the film had little to do with it, in my opinion. Overall I enjoyed it and would say that people should go see if it they like "broken romance" stories.
