Yeah I think I'll definately do a Studio Ghibli one and also one for Svankmejer's Alice- I'll see when I can book the place.

Voting for the Ghibli one:

*My Neighbour Totoro
*Spirited Away
*Princess Mononoke
*Grave of the Fireflies

Does anybody have any preference?
prefer princess mononoke

actually, i don't mind which one i see as, they all look really sweet !!

Grave of the fireflies is sweet but very sad- the only one which would be too heavy for kids!!

Alternative link for the venue: Sun Tavern (via - pic of the whole front of the pub, and better description/more detailed distances of how to get there (mentions which way to turn out of Covent Garden, that'd be right for any of you not so used to the journey). Google maps is better than mapquest for this location - it actually finds it...

Hello there,

Here is the list of fascinating films that will hopefully be watched by us all.

A big THANK YOU to everyone that suggested these and lets hope it keeps going. I love it when I hear of a film that I've never heard of. It's part of what this group is about.

Battle of Algiers
Princess Bride
Jean de Florette
Tokyo Story
Central Station
Woman of the Dunes

I'm sure there is something here that people would like to try and I'm also sure there will be many more.

All the best

Thanks for that Richard and to those who've suggested.

I'll add some links as I want to read about these films anyway!
For those who've suggested, please correct me if I've linked to the wrong film!
*Battle of Algiers
*Princess Bride
*Jean de Florette
*Tokyo Story
*Central Station
*Woman of the Dunes
And a few suggested on the RSVP section:
*Army of Shadows
*Silent Running

Please suggest any films you wish here- I'll put up a poll next week.

Hi Gabriel.

Can I suggest 'Seance on a Wet Afternoon'. Possibly my all time favourite British film.

I would like to make a couple of suggestions for the next free screening...Silent Running (again!) and How to Get Ahead in Advertising.

I would like to suggest more, but unfortunately all my best films are on cassette.

Analogue rules!

For the next free screening, I'd like to suggest:

I have both of these on DVD.

I'd also go with Silent Running as I wanted to see that one last time!
