Let's check out NewFest 2008: The 20th Anniversary New York LBGT Film Festival in commemoration of Gay Pride Month. We'll attend the screening of The Beirut Apt and 14 Degrees Eastwards; afterward we'll head over to Burritoville (352 W 39th St b/t 8th/9th) for a bite to eat and to discuss the films.

This is a joint event with The New York LGBT Movie Fan Meetup Group.

Though located relatively close to major European gay meccas, and home to a growing LGBT culture, Poland remains virulently and sometimes violently homophobic ? as recounted by young activists as they attempt to stage a gay pride march.
In Beirut, where homosexuality is forbidden, a small apartment serves as a sanctuary for four LGBT Lebanese of different faiths and cultural backgrounds to speak freely about their lives in a land divided by war, family, religion, and other countries? conflicts.
