Rossini's La Cenerentola

A peerless pair of Rossini virtuosos joins forces in La Cenerentola—a vocal tour de force for mezzo-soprano Joyce DiDonato, singing her first Met performances of the Cinderella title role, and the high-flying tenor Juan Diego Flórez, as her Prince Charming. Alessandro Corbelli and Luca Pisaroni complete the cast, with Met Principal Conductor Fabio Luisi leading the effervescent score.

What seems to be going on here is that New York City’s Metropolitan Opera is pairing two of the most superb singing-actors of our time to attract audiences to see a fun but formulaic work by Rossini.

We’ll meet just inside the glass door from 12:30 through 12:45. An email with further details will be sent to participants.

I think it's admirable that you would prefer to see examples of this art form live. Greater Tampa Bay supports four opera companies, one each in Tampa, St. Petersburg, Tarpon Springs, and Sarasota. Check the newspapers for notices and ads. I'm sorry that we will have to wait to meet you at another event.
