Annual Fourth of July Dunwoody Parade

Avast Me Hearties! We shall arise with the Dawn and Hoist the Colors in the Annual Fourth of July Dunwoody Parade! There will be much Merrymaking... and Rum aboard "Me Ass Be Dragon" as we ride through Dunwoody bestowing trinkets and treasures upon the lads and lassies of the port of call. The parade will not step off till 9:00...but from past experience....the traffic dictates you arrive early... The ship will be resting at anchor at Mt Vernon Shopping Center. here is a Google link,+GA+30350&fb=1&a... The parade proceeds down Mt Vernon to Dunwoody village Parkway and we will end there. The ship will return back to home port for a bit of refreshment, some food & Camaraderie! Hot dogs will once again be the main course.  If you can, please bring a little something to share wit the crew.  We will be Shuttling Cars to the finish thus carpool if you can, but please arrive early...or else we will shuttle you back after the parade!

AGAIN for those that have trouble remembering last year or who will be new this year. We cannot THROW anything at the crowd! We can HAND...that means place it in the hands of the Kids...and adults. NO WATER CANNONS! No Black powder discharges or discharges of any kind. This parade waits for no one....dress for the 2.5 mile hike in boots or shoes... We will have a cooler of ice water on the ship. Any questions? Drop Ferguss a line.

T'was one of our most successful journeys yet, mates! A huge huzzah to those who fed and lodged the masses and set the ship on a steady course. Many a mate has no knowledge of the dedication involved in storin', maintainin', and preparin' the ship. Aye, and payin' off the Dunwoody constable so we be allowed to participate. And someone has to keep track o' how many filthy pirates will sail. Much obliged to those who pitched a doubloon toward expenses or brought in victuals from the village. "I'm not a thief. I'm a pirate, and proud to be called one."

Sadly due to this ankle injury I just can't face standing in poor shoes in the heat for a extended amount of time. So this year I am going to pass joining you.But I will join you guys after at Ray and Angies.

I would really like to be at the July 4th parade, but I will be up at the lake that weekend working on the upcoming Pirates of Lanier event hanging banners, putting up fliers at local eateries and stores... Etc. That being said, I'm going to try and get up at Dawns Crack and come. I'll change my RSVP if I can make it happen! This is an important one for sure- the regular people, and kids especially, are counting on seeing a big band of pirates! If I can help in any way in advance- please let me know. I hope I can be there!

Thank you Lady Franchette hope to meet you when we all get together. Don't know many just the few I've met at the Renaissance Festival & my friend John Brown the Photographer. Everyone seems to be real friendly so hope to make some new friends at the Parade.
