*IMPORTANT* - New no show policy for movie nights at Dan's place

Hi everyone,

I hope those who have come to one or more of my movie nights have enjoyed themselves!  I certainly have.  It's great to watch a flick at home with a few people instead of watching alone, and it's been great meeting some new people.

Now to the unfortunate bit of business...I regret having to do this, but because there have been a few different no-shows so far it needs to be done.  I'm going to be instituting a no show policy starting immediately.  I will give everyone one pass if they no show (but of course I'd prefer if even that doesn't happen!).  After that if you no show a second time, you will be barred from any future movie nights at my place.  It's just not fair to the people on the waiting list, and since my capacity is so limited there is almost always a waiting list.  So far there have been several people who could have attended if those who could no longer make it had changed their RSVP.

I recognize that some folks may not be on their computers as often as others, some have smartphones while some do not, etc.  However keep in mind that this is an internet-based social network community, so everyone who RSVP's yes to an event is responsible for keeping track of that event, which inclides checking your emails for updates and reminders, especially as an event nears.  For this very reason I send out an extra reminder email the day before every event to all "yes" and "waiting list" RSVPs, asking that people please change their RSVP if they can no longer make it.

OK, that's it for the rant...I hope all of you are well and I look forward to Argo next week!

I so totally agree with the "new" no show policy, And hope people understand how necessary it is. And about fairness to others, who would have come, I am really looking forward to seeing Argo on tuesday.... Roni
