Eat @ Jose Tejas, Then Discuss Imaginary Books & Movies in SF at The Fine Grind

Part 1: Dinner

The August Dinner & Discussion will start with Dinner at Jose Tejas Mexican Restaurant on Route 46 in Fairfiled at 6:30 PM. Here's a link to thier menu:

Note: Tejas is always crowed. Anyone there by 6:30 will be at our table. Anyone arriving late is on their own. At dinner we talk about everything in the world except the evening's topic.

Part 2: Discussion

The Discussion will be held at 8:00 PM at The Fine Grind Coffee Bar in Little Falls. It's on Route 23 South (aka Newark Pompton Turnpike), in a strip mall a half mile or so to the south of the Willowbrook Mall.

You don't have to make the dinner to attend the discussion.

The evening's topic will be Imaginary Books & Movies. H P Lovecraft's invented book of occult lore, THE NECRONOMICON, has appeared or been referred to in scores of movies and hundreds of books. An imaginary movie is CHUBBY RAIN, the low-budget horror flick that Steve Martin is attempting to film in BOWFINGER. As usual, the focus is on works of fantasy, science fiction & horror cinema, literature and more.

We had a dozen for The Fine Grind. It was a surprisingly active discussion. I thought it was a topic of a narrow and esoteric focus, but people came up with way more non-existent science fiction / fantasy / horror books, movies, television shows and plays than I ever would have imagined! Lots of fun :-)

I won't be able to make the dinner, but I'll see you guys at the cafe afterwards. See you later! =)
