UPDATE: Landmark is NOT carrying the movie, so we'll be seeing it instead at the Music Box and heading to D'Agostinos at 1351 W. Addison afterwards. Getting tickets in advance is HIGHLY recommended, which you can get at: https://musicboxtheatre.com/order/add-tickets/17615 )
It's only fair for the Chicago Film Discussion Group to get a head start on what is sure to be one of the most talked-about movies of 2019: Quentin Tarantino's new film "Once Upon A Time in Hollywood"! Once again he has a vast cast of stars and stories in this film, with one of the main plots of an action actor (played by Leonardo DiCaprio) and his stuntman pal (Brad Pitt), as they navigate a Hollywood clashing between the fading glitz of its Golden Age and the rise of the counterculture (which may not be as friendly as on first glance). Tarantino has proven himself a genius at combining scenes, moods, characters, and genres from his encyclopedic knowledge of film, and no matter how magnificent or awful the result, there's surely be a lot to experience and to talk about afterwards!
