Are you up for an all day adventure on the Great Miami River? Covering 14 miles and portaging 3 dams is more than an adventure, its an "All the Dam Dams in Dayton Challenge!"
We will paddle 14.3 miles from the low side of the Taylorsville dam [GM 90.9] (http://newserver.miamiconservancy.org/recreation/documents/GMR_RiverMap_09web.pdf) to our take out area just north or the Tait Station dam [GM 76.6] (http://newserver.miamiconservancy.org/recreation/documents/GMR_RiverMap_09web.pdf) on The Great Miami River (http://newserver.miamiconservancy.org/recreation/documents/GMR_RiverMap_09web.pdf) (near Carillon Historical Park). There is not a livery for boat rental or a shuttle. You will need to own your own boat and be willing to shuttle with other kayakers on this Meet Up. If you do not have a boat, rental information is included below.
We will meet at 9:00 AM at the boat launch area and agree on shuttle logistics. We will prepare boats for launch and a group will stage vehicles for shuttle at the take out location. If you are running late, please call. I will provide my cell number once RSVP's close. The latest you may arrive is 9:15 AM to ensure the group is on the water as soon as possible.
We plan to push of from the shoreline at 9:30 AM (launch time)
We should be out of the water 6:00 PM + or -
Expect to spend about 8.50 hours on the water
We will take a leisurely paddle giving plenty of time for camera opportunities
