The New York City MS SharePoint Developers User Group Pages

The New York SharePoint Developers User Group welcomes anyone interested in developing for the Microsoft SharePoint 2007 or SharePoint 2010 platforms. We meet the third Wednesday of every month.

This group is dedicated to finding the best solutions to SharePoint customization and enhancement projects, which means our group is not just about ASP.NET and Visual Studio. It's also about customization with SharePoint Designer, InfoPath forms, Visio drawings, JQUERY, Javascript, XML and all the other endless ways you can customize SharePoint!

We also emphasize that the most important thing a SharePoint developer needs to know is exactly what is provided Out-of-the-Box (OOTB), so existing functionality is not duplicated. This requires the developer to have a very good working knowledge of the client interface as well as SharePoint administration and architecture, the capabilities of InfoPath forms, Excel Services, BDC, etc.

Each month a SharePoint professional will present a technical presentation on some subject concerning SharePoint development. This could be an overview of SharePoint programming concepts, an in-depth look at a SharePoint tool or a walk-through of a particular solution. If you have any ideas for meeting topics, let me know. We encourage all members to consider presenting.

This is a very interactive group! Questions often spark lively discussions during the meetings that often continue after the meetings so don't be shy and participate!

We are fortunate to have the involvement of our Founding Sponsor, Gig Werks, which has offered the time of their two leading developers, Neil Barkhina and Christian Holslin, as our NYCSDUG SharePoint Development Experts. They will help answer questions that NYCSDUG members have on their blog, http://www.TheSharePo....
