NYC SharePoint Developers User Group is This Wednesday

From: user 1.
Sent on: Monday, September 13, 2010 12:55 PM

The next NYC SharePoint Developers User Group is this Wednesday! So REGISTER NOW if you haven't already! Remember that the security desk will have to call Microsoft and have them put you in the computer if you're not registered, meaning that it could take you as much as 20 minutes to get upstairs. I'm going to be sending the list to Microsoft at about 4:00 on Wednesday so that you can now register at the last minute and still be on the list.

SUBJECT: BCS, Part 2, Securing Your BCS Objects with Kerberos

SPEAKERS: Christian Holsin, Solution Architect
In this session, Christian will continue where he left off last time with his presentation on the BCS. If you remember from before, he setup two External Content Types using a small data mart in SQL Server tied together with a foreign key. In this next session, Christian will present a real-world, production scenario and show you how to build and secure it using Kerberos authentication to achieve the maximum flexibility for your infrastructure. Do you remember the nag screen from the last session which complained about identity impersonation? Even if you don?t, Christian will show you how to add this final configuration step to bring your BCS Content Types full-circle into a real-world, production environment.

WHEN: Wednesday, September 15th, 2010 at 5:30 PM

WHERE: Microsoft Office NYC - 6th Floor
1290 Avenue of the Americas, 6th Floor
(between 51st and 52nd Streets on the East side of the street)

As always, sandwiches, salads and sodas will be provided by our founding sponsor GIG WERKS.

And once again, we'll be raffling off a copy of the Telerik Ultimate Collection toolset, a $1999 value, to one lucky winner!

Even though we don't have an After-Meeting Social sponsor for this meeting (alas, no free drinks), we'll be walking across the street to McCormick and Schmick's after the meeting. Don't miss this opportunity to network and share with your SharePoint colleagues.

Finally, don't forget to bring ID for the security desk downstairs.

See you on Wednesday,

Kathryn Birstein
