From: user 1.
Sent on: Friday, September 14, 2012, 12:07 PM

Dear NYCSPUGers,

Just wanted to remind you that the next NYC SharePoint Developers User group is next WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 19th so sign up if you haven't done so already. We are fortunate this month to have an After Meeting Social sponsor! It's TEKsystems, a staffing company that has some pretty cool people working for it (I actually interviewed with them for a consulting position although it didn't work out). Here's their bio:

TEKsystems, an Allegis Group company, is the industry’s #1 IT Staffing and Services company for the last 10 years consecutively.  TEKsystems has 90 offices across the country with 2,200 recruiters working with 5,500 customers, including 82% of Fortune 500 companies.  TEKsystems specializes in the fields of Applications, Network Infrastructure, End-user Support and Telecommunications.  Our customer relationships and our quality process allows us to get Technical Professionals the best opportunities and to keep them continuously employed.

And as usual, we will have swag (i.e. free stuff) from Infragistics, Telerik and Pluralsight and pizza and drinks from our ever-loyal founding sponsor, Gig-Werks.

MEETING DETAILS

TIME: 5:30, Meet and Greet, 6:00 Presentation, 7:30 After Meeting Social at McCormick and Schmick's

PLACE: Microsoft, 1290 Avenue of the Americas (6th Avenue), 6th Floor

SUBJECT: InfoPath Programming

SPEAKER: Kathryn Birstein, NYCSDUG Founder!

DESCRIPTION: InfoPath 2010 is a very useful no-code tool with which you can accomplish a lot with just rules. However, there are a lot of instances where a little bit of code is necessary to make your InfoPath solutions complete.

In this session, Kathryn will demo how to setup the VSTA environment, create form and field events and publish forms with code as well as show some no-code techniques you can use to cut down on the amount of programming you'll have to do.

The demo will use two complex, connected forms she recently created for a client so it will a very real world presentation.

So be there or be square!

Kathryn
