MUC HW #5: Space satellite firmware optimisation & Smarter EV-Charging Systems
Details
We're excited to welcome you to our next Munich Hardware Meetup, this time hosted at the Locio office—where smart, practical hardware for the Electric Vehicles is built and tested every day. Join us for an inside look at Locio’s space, followed by two talks on pushing hardware forward: from developing sophisticated firmware for space satellites to building smarter EV-charging solutions. As always, you’ll have plenty of time to meet fellow builders, engineers, and hardware enthusiasts from across Munich’s community.
Hardware Meetups happen in over 30 cities around the world, helping bring together founders, engineers, and other hardware professionals to networks, share insights, and collaborate with one another.
Note!!!!
We are migrating our event to the Luma platform. In future, we will not be posting event information here any more. Please subscribe to our calendar here to stay tuned, and sign up for this event via this link (you can still RSVP here but we recommend you get into the new habit).
Our presenters
Sebastian Würl is a satellite software architect with deep experience in systems programming, gained through years of hands-on work in satellite development at WARR and OroraTech. From building VR engines to leading the software architecture of real space satellites, he’s spent his career pushing high-level code to perform reliably on low-level, resource-constrained hardware. In his talk, he’ll share why trusting your optimizer matters — and how modern C++ can safely power mission-critical embedded systems.
Leonardo Ruiz is a renewable-energy engineer and QA specialist who works on testing and validating EV hardware to meet European standards.
With experience in both hardware and software quality assurance, as well as solar and energy-tech projects, he brings a practical view of how to build reliable products in a fast-moving sector.
In his talk, he’ll share how iteration and compliance shape the path from prototype to production-ready EV hardware.
