We generally go to art museums for our events, but for this meetup, we are going to a science museum to check out the first ever large scale exhibition of the Inca Empire held in Japan. The exhibition showcases archeological findings from the empire, including potteries, fabrics, figurines, and mummies. It also includes colonial paintings which captures images of Incas after the collapse of their empire. I am personally interested in seeing a female figurine with a headdress ornamented with colorful bird feathers (http://www.kahaku.go.jp/english/exhibitions/ueno/special/2012/inka/img/img_1.jpg) and a mummy with a captivating gaze. Hope some of you are free on 27th and spend the Sunday afternoon at the science museum to check out the world of Incas with me.
