Last March meetup was at lot of fun for this "free to the public" museum offering that has a variety of activities. This line-up looks like it'll be equally as promising:
1st, we'll meet the artist-in-residence at 6:00 to see her art, hear about her creative process and maybe ask questions; 2nd, ride the elevator to the top of the tower, a great view
and an opportunity for creative photos;
3rd, the John Santos Sextet will be playing their original compositions and we'll be improvising in a group dance; and lastly, around 8p we'll get to relax, eat and chat at the museum cafe. We're being paired with a jazz meetup group so expect more fun and interactions.
If you have time, you can join me at 4:00 for the Diebenkorn exhibit. It's free to museum members and there might be an few free guest tickets available but non-member's price is $21. This is a popular exhibit and it may sell-out. On a Friday afternoon it shouldn't be as crowded as a weekend. I'd get your ticket asap before you RSVP for the meetup. See link: https://tickets.famsf.org/public/show_events_list.asp. Scroll July 5th.
Please don’t RSVP if you’re uncertain or juggling commitments for that day. Members that RSVP and "no show" or dropout the day or two before the meetup disrespects the group and those on the Waiting List. Such offense can mean losing your membership without notice. Meetup is a social organization and it will prosper if members respect the group.
