Ira Levin's dark play,"Veronica's Room"

PLEASE NOTE:  Show starts @ 8:00, meet me in the lobby/box office area between 7:30 and 7:45.  Please RSVP when you are ready to commit and pay for your ticket, payment is required at the time you RSVP, otherwise you will be moved to the waiting list until payment is received.  Thanks.

Ira Levin is best known for writing The Boys from Brazil, Stepford Wives, and Rosemary's Baby. But Levin also turned his imagination to the stage and Veronica's Room, a terrifying play at the Underground Theatre, is among the darkest of all his efforts. Invited to a crumbling mansion by its charming Irish caretakers, Susan, a young co-ed, is met with an usual request. Since she strongly resembles "Veronica," the long-dead relative of the mansion's current owner, could she possibly visit Veronica's room and try on some of her clothes? The caretakers convince Susan that the sight of "Veronica" alive again might soothe their employer, an elderly woman afflicted with dementia. But a compassionate-sounding request masks a fiendish plot with hellish consequences Susan might never escape. The Visceral Company presents the 40th anniversary revival of this gripping thriller, its shocking ending as powerful as ever.

Veronica's Room was layer upon layer of surprise and shock...soooo good! Carol, I don't know how you find them, but so glad you do! Another great MSK event. I can't get to as many as I'd like, but MSK never disappoints - the people and experience always the best! Appreciate MSK and you all. Thanks, KE

Lots of twists and turns at the end, took awhile to sink in, LOVED it, my kind of creepy psychological play. And what a great group of friends to share it with!

As always I enjoyed the company of ALL the sisters that were there. Larchmont Bongalow was a great choice for dinner before the play. I enjoyed "Veronica's Room" and like the twist. So glad I was able to make it.

OK, Larchmont Bungalow it is. We will meet there for dinner at 6:15. Please let me know by Tuesday evening whether you will be joining us for dinner or not, so I'll know how many to make the reservation for.

Larchmont Bungalow, 107 N. Larchmont, about 2 miles from the restaurant, http://www.larchmontbungalow.com/lunch-dinner-menu/

Kay - I didn't see parking info on their website, do they have a parking lot, or if not, where do you recommend we park?

Hi Juliet - hey, I'm confused - you aren't signed up for this event - did you get a ticket independently and want to join us? OR.......??? You are welcome to join us if you can get a ticket, I have no more left. Let me know.

Parking info for Larchmont Bungalow - The restaurant is located in the south end of Larchmont Village. There are plenty of meter parkings on both sides of Larchmont Blvd. There are also two public parking lots, one located next to RiteAid (226 N. Larchmont), and another one located at 209 N. Larchmont where farmer's market is held on Sunday AM. Meter parking is easier in the evening than during the day because the peak hour for Larchmont Village restaurants is brunch/lunch, not dinner. There are parking in the neighborhood, but please read the sign carefully b/c this area is mostly for "resident permit parking" after 6 pm.

The cafe is called "Larchmont Bungalow". I don't know why my computer did autocorrect :) "Larchmont Bungalow" will not ask for any credit card guarantee (I have done many events at that cafe for my movie group for a party size over 20 people). They only have few tables large enough to accomodate a large party... so for all of us to sit together, it's best to call ahead and make a reservation so they can save the area for us.

Within few blocks from the theater, there are two excellent Italian restaurants (known for their house made pastas) called "Osteria Mamma" and "Osteria La Buca". Both restaurants should be able to accomodate our party size, and reservation is required (both restaurants are very popular). However, we are talking about Saturday night... so the restaurant may ask for "credit card guarantee" for the reservation. The theater is not that far away from Larchmont Village where "Larchmonth Bungalow" is located. "Larchmonth Bungalow" is a fabulous cafe. On Saturday night in the evening, this place probably will be not busy b/c the cafe is mostly for brunch/lunch/coffee... they have great foods/ambiance and will be able to accomodate a large group of 17 very easily. However, a reservation is recommended so that they can save a large table for our group. It's order at the counter service, so very convenient for a large group. Everybody orders their own foods/drinks and pays on their own.
