The Boston MySQL December Meetup

  • Dec 12, 2005 · 7:00 PM
  • This location is no longer available

Philip Antoniades, MySQL Senior System Engineer, will speak on "What's new in MySQL 5.0". There is an event (WWE wrestling) at 7:45 pm on the 12th, so parking may be an issue. Arrive early, and take public transit!

(We are working to get a space that's more car-friendly for Jan and beyond).

Optaros has offered space at their office at:

60 Canal St, map at
http://tinyurl.com/8t...
Very close to North Station -- Orangle and Green Lines, and Commuter Rail.

Please feel free to post on the message board if you want to meet for food beforehand. Pizza and soda will be served, so please RSVP accurately.

Join or login to comment.

Speaker had a watchdog to remind him to speak louder and repeat the question. Techies are so often poor presentors. <grin>

It is a wonderful gathering, small but warming. Nice to meet people with similar interest and belief about open source and database development. I particularly like the small get together opportunity at the BAR where you can ask simple/stupid questions and here anecdotes about the MySQL history, and learn more about career/business opportunities in this booming area of DB managemnet.

It was nice gathering. However, the presentation was just to general in order to be very useful. It would be valuable in a future to know the intended audience for the presentation line beginners, intermediary, advanced.

I enjoyed the discussion of MySQL 5.0 and the features that make it a good choice for a database. Nice discussion of some of its advantages and improvements over previous versions.
