Relational databases and NoSQL document stores are generally perceived to be at opposing extremes, with schemas and SQL receiving much of the blame for relational database scalability challenges. Akiban has taken a different approach with Akiban Server, a database which brings document stores and relational databases together. Developers get powerful document access and schema evolution capabilities alongside surprisingly powerful SQL. In this presentation Ori will cover the architecture and operational ideas that underlie the Akiban Server, which is available for download on Akiban's website.

Via public transit, the closest transit stop is Broadway (0.7 miles, or take the #47 bus towards Central Square and get off at the Albany & Randolph street stop). You can also take the SL5 (Silver Line 5) to Washington Street at Union Park, which will get you very close (0.1 miles away).
On-street parking is plentiful after about 6:30 pm when most of the area workers go home.
