Phillip Mottaz wrote his first novel when he was only 39. After growing up in Illinois’ smallest city, he studied improv and sketch comedy in Chicago. Since moving to Los Angeles, he has written every kind of script imaginable, produced multiple podcasts, and written many well received books including his latest 'Deadly Maybe'.
Judging our book choice by its title, I assumed I was in for an irreverent and comically infused murder mystery. What I got was just that ...and so much more! It's delightful.
Mottaz takes us on the nine-day magical mystery tour of our heroine – Danica Luman. Danica, our psychic barber, has all the makings of an intriguing leading lady: mysterious, funny, quirky, baggage from her past and truly psychic! As Mottaz spins his mystery and Danica cuts her teeth as a sleuth, we are introduced to a wide variety of colorful characters, suspects, clients, family, loves and friends in Danica’s seemingly mundane life. She is engagingly complicated and struggling with a definite moral code.
