What and/or who inspired you to express your natural hair?

My natural journey started in Korea, I saw them as beautiful people collectively however they used bleaching creams and would get plastic surgery to make themselves appear to look "white" the thought of that turned my stomach, I couldn't understand why they didn't want to embrace what God had given them as a ppl to make them unique and it was a huge wake-up call for me. I was not bleaching my skin, however I was putting chronically wearing wigs and straightening my hair because that was considered beautiful. It got to a point where I just couldn't fake it any longer and I BC'd November of 2009. The more my hair grows the more in love with it I become, it has been a crazy ride and as I look back on it I wouldn't change anything about it! Happy to be Nappy!
