Automated Testing

  • Sep 11, 2013 · 6:00 PM

Jordan Kasper is presenting about automated testing!

Abstract:

Stop eyeballing your UI in a browser to test your JavaScript code - that doesn't count. While many developers have embraced testing in their server side code using TDD, fewer test their front end JavaScript code in the same way (or in any way), and even fewer of those use any kind of automation. This talk will guide attendees on how to writing testable JavaScript code, how to write tests for that code, and some solutions for automating the process.

Everyone please thank OpenSky for their generous sponsorship this month.

I have only a tiny background in JavaScript, but I came out of the meetup knowing more, and have a good working knowledge of how to automate tests with node.js, grunt, and QUnit. Jordan's presentation was great. Must be how many times he's presented it ;) Thanks to the organizers for the warm welcome to NSS students and for encouraging attendees to mentor at the school. The support is really appreciated!

w00t! FYI, I'll post the slides and a video of the talk (from a different event, same content) afterward, in case anyone is interested or missed it!

Apologies for bouncing so fast afterwards, my brakes blew out at a stoplight on the way there and I was paranoid about getting home. Presentation was excellent. I'd be interested in the links to the slide/video (forgot to write it down)

Whit, we are still confirming the speaker for this month, however lighting talks could be an option. Do you have a talk you'd like to give?
